19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term coach Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden title following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since spring of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to secure a title is really nice," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.
But the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved service.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
